Welcome to Rural Payday, Inc.'s official website. Rural Payday is a New Mexico not-for-profit corporation established to support community and economic growth in New Mexico's small and rural communities. Rural Payday's membership consists of executives from economic development corporations, chambers of commerce, regional development groups, and a wide variety city and county personnel. Development services firms like architects, engineers, and construction companies also support our efforts. Our main goal is to help attract new jobs, capital investment and tax revenues to our communities.
Rural Payday's operations are directed by a fifteen member Board of Directors. The Directors reside in all areas of New Mexico and span a wide variety of business organizations. Membership in Rural Payday is open to individuals and firms wishing to help promote and support the interests of New Mexico's small and rural communities. Rural Payday maintains several active committees including Membership, Marketing, Resources and Legislative Affairs. A regular Calendar of Events such as workshops, tradeshows, and special events is conducted on an annual basis.

New Mexico Population
The University of New Mexico’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research (BBER) estimates New Mexico’s 2006 population at 1,954,599. Of that total, 675,020 or 34.53 percent reside outside the state’s four Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA) while 1,279,579.00 or 65.47 percent reside within the MSAs. The four MSAs in order if size are Albuquerque, Farmington, Las Cruces and Santa Fe. Only eight of New Mexico's 100 incorporated places have estimated populations in excess of 30,000 people. General Information
New Mexico, the 47 state (January 6, 1912), is the 5th largest state in land area at approximately 121,599 square miles. The states of Utah, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona and country of Mexico touch or borders. Santa Fe is the state capitol and the oldest government seat in the United States. Wheeler Peak is the highest point (approximately 13,161 feet), the state flower is the Yucca and the state tree is the Pinion. New Mexico’s slogan is the “Land of Enchantment”.
